Reflection 4: Exploring AI’s Environmental Impact

For this week’s blog post, I chose to dive into an article that caught my interest: AI has an environmental problem. Here’s what the world can do about that (United Nations Environment Programme, 2024). The intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and environmental sustainability is a topic I find both compelling and crucial in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. I also didn’t realize that AI had an environmental impact before last week’s lectures.
